About Brooke McKenzie
You're the one everyone depends on.
You show up, you get things done, and from the outside, everything looks fine. But internally? You're running on pressure, your mind won't slow down, and actually relaxing feels like a foreign concept.
That's exactly who I work with.
I'm Brooke McKenzie, a therapist specializing in high-functioning anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout, for professionals who are succeeding on paper but struggling underneath it.
Our approach
Our approach is direct, structured, and built around real change.
I'm not here to nod and listen while you circle the same patterns. You'll leave sessions with clear tools, honest feedback, and a real plan, because insight alone doesn't change anything. We work together, and yes, there's homework. Not busywork, targeted strategies that actually break the cycle.
I primarily use CBT and ACT: approaches that challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and help you stop fighting your mind so you can start taking control of your life.
What you can expect
Sessions that are focused and productive, not open-ended
Real strategies you can apply immediately
A therapist who will challenge you, support you, and tell you the truth
If you're ready to stop operating from anxiety and pressure, and start feeling calmer, clearer, and more in control, I'd love to work with you.
Meet Brooke
Brooke is a licensed clinical social worker and clinical leader with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, overwhelm, and high-pressure environments. Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership roles in behavioral health and healthcare organizations, giving her a deep, real-world understanding of what it means to carry responsibility, manage constant demands, and still be expected to perform at a high level.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Brooke holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which shapes her practical, structured, and results-oriented approach to therapy. She understands not only the emotional impact of anxiety, but also how it shows up in productivity, decision-making, leadership, and relationships.
Brooke specializes in working with high-functioning individuals who are used to “handling everything,” but feel overwhelmed internally. Many of her clients are professionals, leaders, or caregivers who are constantly managing competing demands and struggling to slow their minds down, set boundaries, or feel fully present in their lives.
Her approach is direct, supportive, and action-oriented. Brooke integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with practical, real-world strategies that help clients move from insight to meaningful change. She believes therapy should not just provide understanding—but also clear direction, tools, and accountability.
Clients working with Brooke can expect:
Honest, straightforward feedback
Structured sessions focused on progress
Practical strategies that can be applied immediately
Support that challenges patterns while building confidence and clarity
Brooke is particularly passionate about helping clients:
Reduce anxiety and mental overload
Break cycles of overthinking and pressure-driven productivity
Improve communication and connection in relationships
Create a more balanced, sustainable way of living and working
Her goal is to help clients not only function well—but feel more in control, more present, and more aligned with how they actually want to live their lives.
